New clutch and flywheel
« on: 17 August 2014, 20:17 »
So I've just recently found out that my clutch is slipping. I'm going to be replacing both the clutch and flywheel, I thought about using the g60 flywheel with Sachs clutch kit but iv heard mixed reviews about it.
What do you guys think about these pieces of kit?

I've done the vr6 / g60 upgrade and i definitely recommend it. it costs about the same as replacing the stock clutch, and on top of that it can handle up to around 300 bhp / 300 ft lb of torque and you also get a really light clutch.

Another positive here for the G60 and sachs clutch kit

I bought the G60 flywheel from VW (without exchange) and bought the clutch kit as it worked out cheaper, this was a while ago though so scene tax may have been added
ARZ K03s, Oettinger Side Skirts, R32 front, Carbon stage 2, Forge 007p (yellow spring), Forge Actuator (yellow spring), Pipercross panel filter with DSG parts, N249 and N112 deleted, SAI deleted, Carbon canister deleted, Rear wiper deleted, Long Life turbo back custom exhaust with 200 cell sports cat, VR6/G60 clutch kit, Creation Motorsport TIP, Catch can, 'Wellycooler', K04 charge pipe, S3 ported inlet manifold - looks pretty standard on the outside though :)

Thought I should add that I bought the whole kit (flywheel and sachs clutch) from techniclutch on ebay for £165, mine turned out to be fine, but a fair few others have had a lot of bad reports from them.

I'm pretty sure that's come down quite a bit (alarm bells ringing) I think the clutch kit alone used to be near that and then I got the flywheel from VW for around £50, the set used to be around £230-£250 from memory, I only remember because VW wanted an absolute fortune for a dual mass setup and when mine went I thought fook that

Yeah I've heard a few bad reviews but the good reviews seem to outweigh the bad. That's the seller I was looking as we'll, not a bad price for the kit

I've got the 14lb ECS kit, well impressed with it, not the cheapest option though. Try TPS if there one near you and pricing is similar to the techniclutch kit from what I remember

Sorry to sound stupid but when you say TPS do you mean trade pat specialist?
