Help with constant power to head unit!
« on: 30 April 2014, 06:05 »
I have a VW golf mk3 1997. Had the head unit in for a while and have never been able to figure out why it has no constant power, those whom I have asked also are not sure of the issue. How do attach an image to show you guys the wiring?

When you say it has no constant power, I assume you mean that it loses its memory when the ignition is switched off. I.e. a connection that is normally constantly live (even with the ignition off) seems to be missing.

Is this what you mean?

That's correct! As I looked though the wiring diagrams just now the answer was right there! Swap the yellow and red wires via the bullet adapters, worked immediately! Thank you for your quick response too, is there anyway I can give you a  like or something? Relatively new to this forum.

Spot on. It can be annoying before you relalise what it is.

I don't think this forum has a thanks button, but your post is enough Cheers Good to see you got it sorted.
