Nad - was asking for the piston sizes both front and rear, so didnt know if you was quoting the front mm size of the rear.
Fookin big stoppers your running if they are meters, did 18" wheels fit over the brakes.lol
i know sorry i was just takign the wee wee..
fronts are 36 and 40 mm am pretty sure you gotto to reverse the connector pipes over though as these are mounted at the front of the wheel as appose to the back of the wheel on porsches if you see what i mean otherwise your pads will be f**ked..
best way to do is to put them on the floor next to each other and just diagonally swap the bottom left pipe with top right nipples and top bottom right pipe with top left nipples then your good to go ..
best off to get a 11mm bleed spanner too it basically stops the nipples from rounding....
Here comes a dispute am sure but porsche calipers on golf mk4s are a completely head f**k lots of peopel due to putting the calipers on the front of the wheel and changing pistons over end up with squeeky pads mine drove me mad, and this is isnt with cheap pads its with ALL PADS i tried 10 diff sets and the squeak me and Dave B figured was due to crossing the pipes which has to be done anyway....
then theres the discs which are only available in 5 x 100 if they are custom drilled, theres also no disc screw in them so when you change your wheel its a pain in the arse lining the disc spacer and wheel ups for the bolt to go through, unless you have a post, then your faffing about crossing caliper pipes over and using spacers to space the calipers, just cudnt be arsed...
apaprantly these work with 312s but the whole point of big brakes is to get the best of the brakes so running boxster fronts with 312 discs and having 10mm pad over hang is hardly a great Big Brake upgrade not to mention to run them you need tiny spacers made to space the caliper out and then you need longer caliper bolts its just a total pain in the arse.... whats the point???.....
am sure peopel will differ i respect that i dont wanna start world war 3 so tech before you jump on this thread am just giving my opinion although the same problems have been discussed on various other forums
these are more available though, you can get the discs all day long pads all day long plus there proven to work as there off a leon cupra by factory,
i also got them refurbed in a slightly different red which is a bit orangy but stands out its a straight through colour whichlooks the lickkkkkkkkkkkk i did the rears with today aswell, i did however put the decal on the wrong way am pretty sure iys supposed to read from bottom to top on both calipers, having said that the alpha we have says alpha on its brembos bottom to op on passenger side and top to bottom on drivers and there factory made brembos
