Hi guys. I’ve been looking into fitting a very subtle rear spoiler. Thinking of the R Perfomance pack one. This looks the same as the one on the TCR. Anyone added one to their car? Also wondered how you actually fit them.

The oettinger one is also available as an option, although it can also be retro fitted as I did.

I like the oettinger one, looks aggressive, but probably a little too big for what I’m looking for.

Good find .... may well put one on mine , I think it needs something to balance the diffuser. I’m a little amazed at the increased downforce claimed at 20kg [ Edit.. that might be for the TCR one]
The thing is am I brave enough to get the alignment of this right or to drop the car off at a local body shop.

Apparently the trick is to line it up with your rear wiper!

270 euros for a small bit of gloss black plastic???!! WOW :shocked: :shocked: :shocked:
Makes the OEM gloss black mirrors look very underpriced at £125.

Makes the OEM gloss black mirrors look very underpriced at £125.
But they don't come with sellotape (other brands might be available) :whistle:

On the link it has "what other people bought" Genuine R rear lights with swoopy indicators for 500 euro just goes to show what an over priced piece of tat this really is.

Cheapest I can get it for so far is £220. I’m trying to use contacts to get it at cost. Worth a go!

The Maxton design looks pretty good on the R.

Oettinger looks good and far better value that that tiny strip they call a Performance spoiler for the R :smiley:

Keep looking at those but not sure if it’s too big. I can’t really find anything I like apart from the SRS TEC one.

Yeah, that’s nice but don’t think would fit R/GTI as doesn’t have those gloss black side bits at the top of the window - looks like it fits a non performance Mk7?

That’s definitely the Maxton one. Been looking at it for a while. Funny how none of them quite sit right up to the edge of the spoiler at each side. That does bug me.

It's certainly much better value than the VW one! But yes, no idea why it stops short at each side, that would put me off completely unless it was colour coded or on a black car. It's like it doesn't fit properly :rolleyes:

Aside from the aftermarket ones, some of which look better to my eyes than others (the Oettinger a bit OTT for me) it’s amazing that VW have so many different options suddenly available for a car in its twilight, assuming the TCR and R PP spoilers are indeed different.

Have looked hard at the AMG A35 but the Aerodynamic rear wing/spoiler is too much for me, as think the Oetinger may fall somewhere in between and just give my next R a little more rear presence - so very tempted to option next month when order next changeover.

I think they probably are different. However, on the R forum they’ve discovered that the part numbers are apparently the same. This means that they’re either the same part, the TCR spoiler from the concept is now different or that Vw have messed up. Hmmmmm

I'm still undecided on the Oetinger spoiler. Some days I like it, other days I don't.

I really like it. There aren't that many that I have seen with it (Northern Ireland), although I've seen a few with replica carbon fibre ones which are ok from a distance, but not so much up close. I think it adds a little to the rear, yet is reasonably priced.
