If I'm getting the lot for free but I'd rather just do the head and loom rather than take the whole engine out.

Hi thanks for that. I've only had the car for around 3 weeks so not cleaned it at all yet, but must say I've not thought of that at all so tomorrow it will be cleaned. My last 18t was a 98 so there was no TB.

It's the way to build them at VW now, and the way some have being doing for years! (I worked at Citroen years ago and each delivery we got of new cars came with a bag of bits that had fallen off between production line and dealership)
