They made a big difference on my gti-6 alot less brake fade and they were bigger aswell so stopped quicker and look better so a big difference if say

They do make a difference only in a hole that they make in your wallet
As wayne said there's nothing to gain from grooved unless you are out rallying in a golf
If anything just get normal discs but look at other brands such as mintex if you want some braking improvement. Otherwise look at slowing upgrading the system to 312mm or bigger, upgrade to braided hoses front and back, uprate the brake fluid to higher boiling point stuff, install ducts from the front of your car into your arch liners to blow on the discs... there's some ideas if you really want to up the performance off brakes. The whole grooved and drilled idea is for looks and a bit of a gimmick, also increased chance off having a cracked disc under insane driving.
