Hi guys, totally new to the world of vw but after being a big fan of the mk2 golf gti I decided to relive my youth and buy one.
So just bought a 3door j reg mk2 8v in oak green with 167k on the clock.
Needs a bit of work doing to it but body work doesn't look to bad, got it booked in a local body shop who is going to take all the bumper/arch kit off and sort out any rust he is also going to do the same to underneath of the car.
Next step will be to sort the engine out, now this seems to be problem! Had a couple of quotes for engine swap, one that is doable and one that is way more then I would or can afford to pay.
So anybody no anywhere in the north lincs are that do engine swaps at affordable prices? Any help would be great.
