MG ZR owner wanting to return.
« on: 10 December 2004, 22:53 »
Hi there,as above sold a mint mk2 gti 18 months ago & got the zr.Very nice but not a GTi i & really want another but not shure what to do.The zr is on a personal lone so dont want to make this larger !,i had a look at a very nice mk3 gti today1998 r plate, 2 owners x 4 electric windows, air con,68000 miles full vw service history ?3500.They said they would do a deal with the zr & give me ?3000 cash back. Some advice would be great, dont really mind going back to an older car & the 3 grand would reduce the loan.

A mint Mk3 for that money will be much more fun than a Rover.
Though personally, I'd spend the money on a mint Mk2 or Mk1.

But definately come back to VW, you won't regret it.

Buy the Golf. Just check first that you're not going to get stung with extra charges for paying back part of your loan early. Some loan agreements are much harsher in this regard than others.

Go for the mk3 mate you wont regret it, and it will be loads better than your MG.

Thanks for the reply guy's,still thinking it over. The GTI is a really nice clean un thrashed example & when i took it out it drove really well.
Having given it a lot of thought i would be going back to m.o.t's & all that again where as with my zr that doesen't need one untill 06 & i'am the only person who has owned the zed so still really giving it some thought.
I will keep you posted when i have made my decesion. If i do go ahead i think i will try to sell the zed private as the dealer said i could have the GTI & ?3000 cash but on checking the prices i think my zed should be worth around ?7000 to ?7500 as it's an 03 plate with 11000 miles on the clock.
