Running Out Of Steam?
« on: 27 October 2018, 21:26 »
Am I alone in feeling that the Mk7 GTI forum is starting to lose impetus?

Go back even 12 months and the topics and respondents were vigorous.

Now? A bit passive. Or passé?

Why?

I was starting to think the same. I guess it’s inevitable with an aging model. All the issues have been done to death and all the mods have been covered. The Mark 7 has turned out to be a pretty good version of the Golf, though, hasn’t it? Still looks fresh and no particularly awful problems.

Agree with your comments about the Mk7 being a good version of the golf. My Clubsport still stands out and turns heads. 😁👍🏻

And while I am sticking my neck out, can I gently say this forum is surely for owners of GTIs.

Not GTDs, not Rs and especially not any other kind of Golf.

Sorry if I sound like Trump or Tommy Robinson. I’m most certainly not of that persuasion but I do think the forum needs to do what it says on the tin.

I’ll get me coat!

Oh, and in case anyone mentions the Mk8, can I just say how excited I am about my new 7.5 245hp DSG arriving early next year!

Aren't forums in general slowing down with other options for group discussions these days? I suppose many have sold and moved on now the MK7 is older.

It just doesn't seem very active forum, nobody posts anything after 11pm. I was/still am on Briskoda and I find that really good.
