If you do decide on a mk6 GTI if you can stretch to the edition 35 model it has the same engine as the s3 rather than the mk6 GTI engine so is more tuneable if you find you miss the power.

Went and viewed my mates 07 stage 2+ S3 and then an 11 plate MK6 GTI the other week.. ended up with the GTI and I'm very happy with my choice
