Did you go specifically to ask for the update or did they do it as part of a service?

I complained about it before but mentioned it again when i was gettinf my DSG gearbox oil done and they investigated and found a new software update for the issue so they told me.

Thanks for that. I have been watching this thread with interest as I have the same symptoms with my GTD. Again no pattern to it but have been trying switching ignition on then putting seat belt on then starting but sometimes it does have a few cranks before it fires. Will take it into the dealer and mention the software update. Cheers.

How olds the battery. In the cold the battery isnt as good. Thats why normally when your battery dies its in the colder weather.
