Since I started Photography I was facinated with the shots of cars in motion, after doing some research discovered this was achived with the aid of a camera rig
This link gives you all the info you need to know about Rig Photos well worth a read if you are looking to try some out for yourself

This Photographer put together the information on the rig shots here is his website, some great work

The one thing I will say is its not cheap! But the photos I can / will be able to take is worth the investment her are a few of my rig and first attempts
Bought the rig here:

Impressive work!

Stink you said you're actually driving very slow. Do you use a long shutter speed to give the illusion of speed anf blur?
-
yeah, was going no faster than 10mph, tbh its a bit of trial and error with the shutter settings but i found if i had it set for 2/3 seconds that would give sufficent motion blur and give the impression that you are moving alot faster, i also bought a ND filter so i could take soem outdoors as i found on a sunny day the shots just get way over exposed due to all the light,
but read through the topics on the website link and will give you a better understanding of the whole thing
-
Stunning, always wondered how it was done.
-
Did you photoshop the rig out of the pictures on the speed shots??
-
in some of them the rig wasnt showign but yeah it takes some time to edit it out :)
-
 good read all that and great shots, like said i always wandered how it was done!
-
Stunning shots!
You are very brave putting your camera on that rig - I really want to try it now, but I'd be beyond gutted if my worthless Mk3 crushed my camera.

bravery is part of it plus after doing my research the rig i got is one of the sturdiest ;) just got to make sure you have got plenty of space to play with hahah

Well your shots are wicked - really crisp and punchy. I love the way the camera distorts reality with long exposure. You'll have to show us some more with your new R32 (of which I am not at all jealous ). You're lucky in your line of work - at least you don't have to cajole the car into smiling  (I deal with brides and babies :lipsrsealed:)
-
hahah yeah that is tru it just sits there and looks pretty :)
well im still building up my portfolio of work and then hopefully will be able to start getting paid work, glad you like work though dude
-
Ah well - you won't be able to juice up the R32 when you're on start-up 'tog wages mwahhahahaha  You'll end up spending every penny on kit & advertising.
Have you thought about selling to picture libraries? Your work is the sort of stuff they love. BAPLA might be a good place to start, here's a list of the motoring/car libraries

Pay is pants - but the upside is it will look attractive on your cv to art directors at ad agencies & magazines in terms of getting in future commissioned work. These libraries get thousands of whining emails from wannabees - be creative and send them something throught the post that passes the "bin test" like a calendar or oversized postcard.
-
cheers dude ill have a look at that sounds interesting and another way of getting my work scene
-
that is really something..nice work there..want to do a couple with mine? lol
-
Stink, which rig is it that you bought? Is it the Pro Mount SM8 by any chance?
-
<Crocodile Dundee> That's not a rig, this is a rig:

Short shots.
Heavy camera, that rig would happily take some sh*t under pressure!
-
Take a look at the photo again, it's not a heavy camera, it's a DSLR pointing down at the bonnet.
The size of the rig is to make sure that it's absolutely solid at speed (probably 40mph+), this looks like it's rigged for video (with the DSLR), so it'll have to keep the camera still while filming. Whereas Stink's shots are stills and mostly shot at low speeds.
-
Wasn't sure if they rigged a proper video camera for some of the shooting. Either way, I agree that it's there to take the stress of action shooting and confidence it won't fail.
Another variance of the rig

If you like that, check out this BMW advert shot with real cars and some incredible rigs:

That's impressive. Great editing, the "money shot" kind of gave it a computer game feel to it.

Here's a great photo from GF Williams with video tutorials on how to rig and how to edit Rolling Rig shots:
