snow foam decisions..
« on: 28 August 2018, 10:19 »
I'm looking to get a decent snowfoam, however i cant decide.  Everyone I have looked at ends up having not great reviews .  Any recommendations?

I tend to use Autobrite's Magifoam, but BiltHamber Autofoam is also worth a look.  In truth, many of the negative reviews of snowfoam tend to be down to brand favouritism.

Never tried it, but my gut feel would be to go for something that's tried and tested.

I’ve tried a fair few and for me, top is ValetPro Advanced Neutral Snow Foam, closely followed by Bilt Hamber Auto Foam.  The latter being excellent vfm.  Both gives foams of a thinner consistency (that can be adjusted via the lance), than some (such as Meguiars Hyper Wash) which are more like shaving foam consistency, but ime, better to have a slightly thinner foam as it clings to soften and encapsulate dirt, then runs of the car taking the grime with it.  Some very thick foams can just stay on the car looking impressive but actually doing little other than just softening the dirt.  Both VP and BH are very effective pre wash foams.

Ultimate Finish do their own, nice foam and good price. About £15 for 5Lt and I dilute down about 1:8.

Does the photo show the Ultimate Finish product Jim, the density shown on the photo looks to give an excellent cover rate.

Yes that’s the UF own product, they just rebranded it. That’s a fairly standard type foam lance on my Karcher K3 and dilution of around 1:8 ish.
