i apologise to every one if you have read this already,
this thread is already running in the mk3 section with no great joy, but i figure it cant be just a mk3 problem. the problem a few of us have is that our cars judder when you put your foot down its like its missing a spark, the thing is it comes and go's and near impossible to find the fault. things we have tryed new plugs, new plug leads, new dist cap & rotar arm, new ignition coil, new cam shaft sensor, new fuel filter, been on all diffrent kind's of machines without finding fault. latest thing i have tryed is drilling a hole in my peterol cap, that didnt seem to help so im going to drill it larger. its starting to get costly now, so any help is much welcome.

My knowledge is biased to Mk1, 2 's and Audi's but, as you say, maybe we can help.
What sort of mileage have you clocked up? Is it possible that your fuel pump is starting to fail (I assume it is electric)? When my old Audi Coupe GT fuel pump started to wear, it got a little noisier at times and when you put your foot down the car juddered and slowed.......fuel starvation.
Lived with it for a while, but eventually it failed completely.
I think you can do a check on it by seeing how much current its drawing.  

Just an idea :-/

the cars done 58000 miles, a mate's fuel pump was starting to go and that made a hell of a noise where as mine is silent. so feck knows! >:(
it's strange that only a few folk have seen this problem :-/

Doubt its that then, fuel pump should last longer than 58,000.......nearer 150,000 when my coupe one failed.

its good to know that im not the only one!
looks like they have been doing the same as us though, am going to change the relay next.

Try looking at the airflow meter maybe.
