hey cabbs welcome to the site
having sort of made a gti replica before i have a few ideas for you to help you on your way
get yourself the following
tailgate & door post black stickers (don't know where you get these from, i replaced the tailgate for a mk2 gti and sprayed the door posts)
wheel arch and sil kit from german and swedish (quite cheap) or of a scrapped gti but new ones look better
bbs alloys (14"/15")
twin headlight of a wrecked gti ( the whole front cross member comes away with the removal of 9 bolts, so real easy to do a swap, speak to a local scrappy and sure they'll be able to help you out with that. but if you have a "driver" you will probably have twins on anyway)
interior from the same scrapped gti if pos
and tailgate spoiler (the one at the top of the rear window)
hope this helps
do these things and you've got yourself a bona fied mk2 golf gti replica
j
oh yeah buy yourself a scapped  car for a couple of hundred and your sorted for all your transplant parts
