Fitting double din
« on: 15 June 2010, 22:48 »
I know its cheap but just bought 1 of these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1091-2-din-7-Dash-Car-DVD-Player-IPOD-Bluetooth-MP3-/150455408334?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Audio_TV_Electronics_In_Car_Entertainment_GPS_In_Car_Audio_Players_PP&hash=item2307d756ce
I don't think it comes with a cage is it vital to have one?

Also anything else i will need for it to work will it fit straight in with current cables?

Another also  is there any step by step guides on removing the standard tape player from mk4 golf to double din preferbly using lots of images

Think you might need thin metal keys (like a hacksaw blade) to remove the headunit.

Without the cage the unit may not sit well in the aperture. A decent ICS shop should have a universal cage.

The second one (ebay item) is what you need. I've used something similar in the past and works fine.

The Halfrauds item is a trim.
