wierd behaviour - with the smilies
« on: 10 October 2008, 13:01 »
Hmm.  Sometimes, when I reply in a thread quoting a previous post - I merrily type away my usual crap.  But then if I click on one of the smilies, all my text then disapears, and just the smilie code appears.

This has happened to me no-end of times, and I reckon I've seen the same from others too - by the evidence of an obsure smilie without any "supporting" text.

A strange bug indeed. Never experienced it myself, but i tend to type the smiley code rather than click the button. I'm aware of a couple of SMF issues with custom smileys. I thought I'd fixed one with an sql mod and the other java issue I left alone. Hopefully should be resolved when V2.0 goes gold.

If it happens again press ctrl+z

If I delete text by mistake and press that combo (undo shortcut) it brings it all back.

You sure it's not just fat fingers?

but ctrl+z only worx if you actually copy or delete the text - yes/no?  Anyway, I'll try and remember, cause it has happened again.

Nope, they go up my nose ok!
