Just about to do some  welding up on the mk3 what do i need to know
i have some experience in welding and have a very good friend who is really good at welding done alot of cars in his time.

im welding both front jacking points and were the rubber bungs are on the rear is there anything els i should be looking for or not welding up.

Replace anything that's rotten and within 30cm of a seatbelt or suspension mounting point.

That should keep you busy.

Make sure you dissconnect the battery and also the ecu if you can to be safe.

Be very careful of the factory-applied wax coating, that stuff will set alight if you're not careful. Keep a fire extinguisher handy.

Dont forget to pull the carpet and underlay out of the way completely as ive seen that sh!t blaze real good when someone els didnt shift it properly.

Well maybe a new interior soon so a good time to strip car out make it fire friendly  :)
